Work Table Wednesday

Here is the commissioned piece that I was working on for most of the weekend.

It's the Triforce from Zelda.  My friend wanted to give it to her daughter as a gift.  I'm so excited for her daughter, who will be starting pottery class this spring.  :)

Cthulhu Has a Heart

Remember this little cutie pie?

Well, I entered him into a Valentine's Day Contest on Jerry's Art-a-rama!

There are some amazing and beautiful pieces of art on the website!  You should check them all out and vote for your favorite ;)

Voting is for two more days, so hop to it!  Cthulhu needs lovins' too!

Work Table Weekend

So, I've been fairly busy this weekend.  I purchased a new table for my boyfriend and I to share while working on our hobbies.  He has one half for his miniatures and I have the other half for my sculptures.

Speaking of which, he asked me to make a few accessories for his miniatures.  He is working on this undead army, so what better than to have a tombstone and a ~tiny~ skull to go along with it?

So....very...tiny!

This was the first skull I made, just to see if I could pull it off...but it was 'too' big.

I've been working a couple of other pieces, including a commissioned pendant, but I won't show pictures until I hear back from my friend first to see if she likes it. :)

Work Table Weekend

Here are a couple of projects that I have been working on this weekend...

A little brown mouse that hopped onto my table...

He is a bit droopy, but he makes me smile.  He was made using a base brown clay, then layered meticulously with various metallic paints to give his coat more detail.

The other piece I finally finished from a couple of weeks ago is a mini Dalek.

I think this little guy is perfectly harmless...wait...what is that noise?....

More Cthulhu Goodness

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day (if you celebrate) and a great week!  I'm so happy Friday is finally here.  I've been fighting a migraine for the last couple of days, but wanted to show you these little guys I've been working on.  They are either going to be Cthulhu earrings or possibly magnets.  I'll let them tell me what they want to be when they grow up.

Either way, lots of tentacles are headed this way as I start some new projects this weekend!  Especially with another round of snow in the forecast for tomorrow.

Work Table Wednesday

The finished Cthulhus with their bases.

I also continued working on a few other ideas...

These are definitely prototypes and I have a few more tricks up my sleeve regarding them. :)

Super Bowl/Work Table Sunday!

(insert standard NFL football music here)

Makes you just want to grab a plate of wings, some very unhealthy dip and plop down to laugh at the ridiculous commericals and watch two teams fight it out for a chance to be Super Bowl Champions!

It doesn't? Oh.  Well, that's okay too!

For us, we are rooting for one team, but really we sit to watch the commercials and have an excuse to eat really unhealthy food. :P

Tonight, the plan is buffalo wings, chili dip, buffalo chicken dip and hash brown casserole.  Wait...I think we are missing something...oh yes, probably a defibrillator.  Maybe I'll throw in a vegetable to make ourselves feel better.  It will probably be breaded too.

But, besides watching two groups of men beating each other bloody, I will also be working on more clay!  I did want to show you a couple of finished or nearly finished projects :)

That's right...more Cthulhus!  The top one is a birthday gift for a friend...I just need to make him a base tonight and finish him up, then he'll be ready to go. :)  I'm only a couple of weeks late at this point.

This little guy is part of my Valentine's Day gift to my boyfriend. Shhh...don't tell.  ;)

I also have several WIPs (Works in Progress) that I have been doing...I started five more sculptures at a meetup on Friday night, while sitting in a coffee shop, surrounded by friends.  It was really fun and helped me not focus so much on the little details, but the overall design. I'm hoping I'll get those further along too, so I can show you on Wednesday.

Have a great night!
